Fit, Fabric & Care
FIT
Active slim. Cut close through the chest and body, shoulder seam sitting on the shoulder bone, finishing just below the waistband. True to size for most men. Between sizes or want it easier through the body, take the next size up.
FABRIC
95% cotton, mercerised. 5% spandex.
Mercerising treats the cotton under tension so the fibre becomes stronger, silkier and holds colour far more deeply. It costs several times what standard cotton costs, and it is why this tee stays matte, smooth and black.
CARE
Machine wash cold on a delicate cycle, or by hand. Mild detergent only, no bleach.
Do not soak, wring or rub. Do not tumble dry and do not hang dry — lay it flat in the shade.
Cool iron if needed, 110°C maximum. Do not dry clean.

Customer pays for return shipping of unused item. NOIR pays for the shipping of the new size to the customer once original order is received.

The Fabric
It Stays New.
Colour, collar, surface, shape. All of it holds.

Stretch is knitted into the rib, so it springs back every wash.

The colour is locked inside the fibre, not sitting on top of it.

The fuzzy short fibres are combed out before it is knitted.

A dense knit holds its line at the shoulder and the hem.
Why Mercerised Cotton.
Cotton does things performance fabric cannot.
It breathes.
Air moves through the natural fibres instead of heat building up against you.
It does not hold smell.
Synthetic performance fabric traps the bacteria that cause odour. Cotton does not.
It feels cool.
Mercerising leaves the surface smooth and dense, so it sits cool and soft on the skin.
It goes with everything.
Under a Blazer
Enough body to lie flat across the chest, fine enough that the jacket still closes clean.
Under Everything Else
A jumper, a shirt, an overshirt. No bulk at the shoulder, nothing to think about.
On its own.
Clean shoulder, matte black, nothing shouting. It reads considered rather than casual.
The Design Story
Nearly right was not good enough.
Too heavy. Too thin. Too hot. Ribbing that didn't match the body. Others that looked right but washed poorly.
After one year of trial and error with many fabrics, we found one we could finally fully get behind.
